Man killed in Stockport horror crash named as ‘beloved son, brother and father’

A motorcyclist who tragically died in a crash on a major Stockport road has been named. Emergency services attended the A6 Buxton Road, in Hazel Grove, at around 3.30pm on Friday (March 20).

Greater Manchester Police says it was called out to a crash involving several vehicles. A 39-year-old man, who was riding a motorbike, sadly died at the scene.

He has since been named as Anthony Neville Breed. In a tribute issued this morning (Monday), his family said: “Anthony Neville Breed was a beloved son, brother and father. He has been taken from us too soon.”

The A6 was closed for several hours following the crash. An air ambulance was seen landing nearby. Images showed the badly-damaged motorbike and two other vehicles inside the cordon on Friday evening, with debris on the road.

No other injuries have been reported following the crash, GMP says. No arrests have been made, but the other motorists involved have been assisting officers with their enquiries.

A force spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with his family, who are being supported by specialist officers.” An investigation was launched by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit over the weekend.
