The New York Giants have signed defensive lineman Sam Roberts.
Originally a sixth-round draft pick by New England in 2022, Roberts has played in 20 games (two starts) for the Patriots (2022-23), Panthers (2024), and Falcons (2025). His career numbers include 26 tackles, two quarterback hits, and one sack.
Roberts, 6-5 and 300 pounds, appeared in five games last season and made one start before being placed on injured reserve (ankle/knee).
Prior to the NFL, Roberts won the 2021 Cliff Harris Award, which honors the nation’s small college defensive player of the year. He helped guide a dominant Northwest Missouri State defense while recording 18 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in his final season.
