ITV viewers were left confused as a beloved This Morning star appeared on Good Morning Britain.
GMB hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls delivered the latest headlines from the show’s new central London studio on Monday (March 24). They were later joined by regular commentator Kevin Maguire, as well as a fresh face.
English radio talk show host Tom Swarbrick, who regularly appears on This Morning’s Morning View segment, made his debut on Good Morning Britain.
At the end of the segment, Susanna congratulated Tom, saying: “Thank you both very much indeed. Tom, a fantastic debut. [We] never would have known you only had 11 minutes sleep.”
Tom jokingly replied: “Is it still before 7 o’clock? I can’t quite believe it’s before seven o’clock.”

GMB viewers were quickly left confused by Tom’s appearance, as many are used to seeing him grace the This Morning set instead.
“Is that Tom Swarbrick?” one person asked on X (formerly Twitter), with another adding: “That’s not Tom Swarbrick, is it?”
A third said: “Wait that’s the guy from This Morning,” with another viewer similarly sharing: “Where did they find this guy alongside Kevin?”
Meanwhile, others shared their frustrations at the hosts repeatedly “talking over” the commentators. One annoyed fan wrote: “I don’t think they’ve allowed a single point to land on #gmb this morning. They’re cutting off the pundits before they can finish their points EVERY SINGLE TIME.”
Elsewhere during the segment, the stars spoke about vet bills, ahead of the Competition and Markets Authority publishing a final report into the UK’s £6.3 billion veterinary services.

Tom spoke about his pets, saying: “We have three cats, two axolotls, and now we have a very new puppy – that’s Olive.”
He went on: “The vets fees are astonishing. We lost our dog in January. I thought we could be a household without a dog for a lot longer. Turns out, we can’t – we’re a dog household.
“But the vet bills have just gone [up], and they don’t tell you in advance what it is that you’re going to be paying.”
As well as sharing his opinions on This Morning, Tom also presents the drivetime show on LBC radio. He was previously Head of Broadcast at Downing Street between 2016 and 2018, and was also a former advisor to Prime Minister Theresa May.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
