‘It would be a great story’ to reunite with Aaron Rodgers

McCarthy coached Rodgers in Green Bay for 13 seasons, including the transition years from Brett Favre. Seven of Rodgers’ 10 Pro Bowl nods and two of his four MVPs came under McCarthy’s lead. The QB’s lone Super Bowl also came with the veteran coach at the helm in 2010.

Rodgers remains a free agent, with Pittsburgh the only obvious landing spot remaining. In his first season with the Steelers, Rodgers completed 65.7% of 498 pass attempts for 3,322 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions under Mike Tomlin.

Most indicators since McCarthy’s hiring suggest the Steelers believe Rodgers will return for another campaign. As with last season, Pittsburgh seems comfortable taking Rodgers’ timeline. And so, we wait.
