ITV audiences were left confused as a popular This Morning personality made their debut on Good Morning Britain.
GMB presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls delivered the morning’s top stories from the programme’s new central London studio on Tuesday (March 24). They were subsequently joined by regular contributor Kevin Maguire, alongside a fresh face.
English radio presenter Tom Swarbrick, who frequently features on This Morning’s Morning View segment, made his first appearance on Good Morning Britain.
At the conclusion of the discussion, Susanna praised Tom, stating: “Thank you both very much indeed. Tom, a fantastic debut. [We] never would have known you only had 11 minutes sleep.”
Tom jokingly responded: “Is it still before 7 o’clock? I can’t quite believe it’s before seven o’clock,” reports the Mirror.

GMB watchers were swiftly left puzzled by Tom’s presence, as many are accustomed to seeing him appear on This Morning instead.
“Is that Tom Swarbrick?” one viewer questioned on X (formerly Twitter), with another enquiring: “That’s not Tom Swarbrick, is it?”
A third remarked: “Wait that’s the guy from This Morning,” whilst another viewer similarly commented: “Where did they find this guy alongside Kevin?”
Meanwhile, others expressed their irritation at the presenters continuously “talking over” the contributors. One frustrated fan posted: “I don’t think they’ve allowed a single point to land on #gmb this morning. They’re cutting off the pundits before they can finish their points EVERY SINGLE TIME.”
In another part of the segment, the stars discussed veterinary bills, in anticipation of the Competition and Markets Authority’s final report on the UK’s £6.3 billion veterinary services.

Tom spoke about his pets, stating: “We have three cats, two axolotls, and now we have a very new puppy – that’s Olive.”
He continued: “The vets fees are astonishing. We lost our dog in January. I thought we could be a household without a dog for a lot longer. Turns out, we can’t – we’re a dog household.
“But the vet bills have just gone [up], and they don’t tell you in advance what it is that you’re going to be paying.”
In addition to expressing his views on This Morning, Tom also hosts the drivetime show on LBC radio. He previously served as Head of Broadcast at Downing Street between 2016 and 2018, and was also a former advisor to Prime Minister Theresa May.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
