BREAKING: Hill Country College Prep in Bulverde on lockdown, threat contained

BULVERDE, Texas – Hill Country College Preparatory High School was placed on lockdown Monday morning after reports of a shooting near campus, prompting a large law enforcement response and student reunification efforts.

The Comal County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched to the Mustang Vista area near the school following reports of gunfire. Authorities confirmed one person who suffered a gunshot wound was transported to a hospital. It remains unclear whether a suspect is in custody.

School officials initially said the campus was secure and the threat contained, but later announced students would be transported to Bulverde Middle School, located at 29975 Wiley Road, for reunification with parents. Officials urged the public to avoid the area unless picking up a student to allow emergency crews to work.

Law enforcement continues to secure the scene as the investigation remains ongoing. Additional details have not yet been released.
