The Internet Reacts To News That Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Are Working On A Polo-Inspired Scripted Drama With Netflix Amid Recent Fallout

Netflix might not be done with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after all, as it’s being reported that a new project is in the works.

The news comes following a March 17th Variety report about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s allegedly strained relationship with the streaming giant, with their lawyer denying many of the claims.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Are Reportedly Still Working With Netflix Despite Allegations In ‘Variety’ Report

The pair didn’t come across well in the report, with insiders alleging that meetings between them were tens, awkward, and even unprofessional. The former Suits actress was said to talk over Prince Harry, and was even accused of storming out when she wasn’t happy with what was being discussed.

There were also claims that they repeatedly texted the CEO directly about their projects, while Netflix as a whole reportedly grew tired of them constantly revisiting their 2020 royal exit.

But it seems like they won’t have to rely on that narrative for much longer, as a new show is reportedly in development. According to new reports, the pair will co-produce a brand new polo-inspired series – and it will hopefully be a lot more successful than their last one!

What Is Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s New Polo-Inspired Series?

If you recall, Prince Harry’s previous polo series was widely mocked for being cringe, boring, and out of touch, among other things. However, the new show is said to be different because it won’t be a documentary, it will be a scripted drama, with the Sussexes serving as co-producers.

The new scripted drama series will be produced by their Archewell Productions and Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire.

While the project is reportedly inspired by Prince Harry’s “passion project,” Deadline writes that the currently untitled series will be set in the “high-flying equestrian town” of Wellington, Florida. The plot “revolves around the messy dynamics between two rival teams and the families that lead them.” Interesting…

Internet Reactions

The internet doesn’t seem convinced, though. Reactions online ranged from disbelief – as many of their previously announced projects, such as adaptations of the books Meet Me at the Lake and The Wedding Date, have yet to materialize – to accusations that the announcement is a distraction from the fallout surrounding the Variety report.

“This is actual fake news. Netflix is done with them,” slammed one People reader. “Spin spin spin,” thought a second, as a third advised: “They should probably stop announcing things until they come to pass.”

“They have so many programs ‘in production.’ Will this be just one more that never really comes to fruition?” asked a fourth dubious reader, as a fifth pointed out: “After calling them grifters, Netflix has now engaged these two failures in yet another money-losing series?”

“Thought Netflix had pulled the plug on this pair of grifters?” concurred a sixth, as a seventh said: “I will believe it when I see it.” An eighth commented: “I don’t understand why Netflix would allow them to develop a polo drama. They already did something like that with a polo theme and no one watched it and it was so boring and a big flop. Why can’t these two find a real purpose?”

A ninth added: “No one is going to watch regardless.” “I’m bored already,” criticized a tenth, as an eleventh quipped: “Snore. At least it narrows down my choices on Netflix.”

“No one watched the other polo show and no one will watch this one,” recalled a twelfth. A thirteenth chimed in: “The definition of crazy? Repeating past failures. Harry’s original Polo was a boring snoozefest. I’m a lifelong horseman and still could not get past one episode.” A fourteenth concluded: “Another money-losing flop in their future.”
