Browns QB Shedeur Sanders switching from No. 12 to No. 2 next season

He’ll take the field in his new jersey era hoping to reverse course after a so-so rookie season. Although he finished the 2025 campaign as Cleveland’s starting QB and made the Pro Bowl Games as an alternate, Sanders threw for just 175 yards per game while posting a 3-4 record with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Speaking to NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero at the Annual League Meeting on Monday, Sanders’ head coach Todd Monken said the team hasn’t “gotten that far yet” when asked if Sanders would hold onto his QB1 status going into Cleveland’s offseason program.

Now a new number to go along with his new coach in Monken, next up for Sanders is battling through spring to make sure he keeps his old role.
