Adele, Celine Dion share tearful embrace at Las Vegas residency show
The queens of the Las Vegas residency shared an emotional encounter Saturday night at Caesars Palace when Celine Dion turned up for Adele’s show.
Céline Dion is making her grand return in the city of love.
The “My Heart Will Go On” singer, 58, confirmed Monday, March 30, that she would put on a series of concerts at the Paris La Défense Arena in France. The announcement, which was preceded by a series of cryptic posts from the singer, comes over five years after her last major solo concert.
In a video message released on her 58th birthday, Dion shared news of the five-week limited engagement, which will begin on Sept. 12 and consist of 10 shows through Oct. 14.
“Over these last few years, every day that’s gone by, I’ve felt your prayers and support, your kindness and love,” she said. “Even in my most difficult times, you were there for me. You’ve helped me in ways that I can’t even describe, and I’m truly so fortunate to have your support. I’ve missed you so much.”
She described the shows as the “best gift of my life,” adding that she is “so happy” and “so ready to do this.”
Dion last performed in Paris during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics, singing from the balcony of the Eiffel Tower. Her most recent extensive run of shows, Dion’s Courage World Tour, was cut short in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and later scrapped entirely over Dion’s health complications.
In 2022, the Canadian singer-songwriter shared she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a neurological disorder that can cause muscle spasms. The disorder is believed to only affect one to two people in a million, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.
In the 2024 documentary, “I Am: Celine Dion,” she revealed her routine to combat the disorder’s effects, which at the time, included “athletic, physical and vocal therapy” five days a week.

Dion shared an update on her health in her March 30 video announcement.
“I wanted to let you know that I’m doing great, managing my health. I’m feeling good,” she said. “I’m singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing. I love it so much.”
Dion, a beloved figure in Hollywood for her anthemic music and sky-scraping vocals, has received widespread support during her sparing appearances since the diagnosis. In February 2024, she received a standing ovation at the Grammys after her performance of “The Power of Love.”
