John B. Connally High in Pflugerville on lockdown as district police investigate tip

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — John B. Connally High School remained on lockdown Monday afternoon after district police received a tip regarding a person possibly armed in the school’s parking lot, Pflugerville ISD officials said.
Austin police officers responded to the school at 3:55 p.m., according to the department. The school was then placed on lockdown.
Officers searched the school and were not able to find a suspect on campus.
“At this time, there is no evidence that any shots were fired, and no injuries have been confirmed,” police said.
After police cleared the campus, they worked with school officials to safely release students and staff.

Pflugerville ISD shared information with families regarding the lockdown and pickup protocols.
“At this time, officers have not been able to locate the individual or confirm that there is any active danger,” the district said.
Students and staff were secured in their classrooms while law enforcement worked through the situation. Officials said no one was being allowed onto campus property while the investigation was ongoing, and warned of significant traffic congestion in the surrounding area.
Parents wishing to pick up their children were asked to remain patient.
