Freezing rain warning for Montreal

Environment officials say up to five millimetres of freezing rain is possible in parts of southern Quebec, including Montreal, Montérégie and Centre-du-Québec, beginning this evening and continuing overnight Tuesday.
Temperatures are expected to hover near the freezing mark, which could limit the overall impact, but roads and sidewalks may still become icy and hazardous. Freezing rain is also possible earlier in the day, though it is not expected to cause significant issues.
Rain is forecast to end this afternoon before returning this evening, with northeast winds gusting up to 50 kilometres an hour and a daytime high of 3 Celsius. Overnight, conditions remain cloudy with a low near zero.
The unsettled weather continues Wednesday, starting cloudy before clearing to a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon, with a high of 7 C. Temperatures are expected to dip to minus–3 C overnight.
Periods of rain return Thursday, with a high of 5 C and rain continuing into the night as temperatures hold near 2 C.
Showers and milder conditions arrive Friday, with a high of 18 C, before cooler, wetter weather returns for the weekend. Periods of rain are expected Saturday with a high of 9 C, followed by more rain Sunday and a high of 12 C.
