Punjab Kings have won the toss and chose to bowl first against Gujarat Giants in New Chandigarh. Cooper Connolly, Marco Jansen, Marcus Stoinis and Xavier Bartlett are PBKS’ overseas players.
Gujarat Titans handed a debut to pacer Ashok Sharma and Glenn Phillips while leaving out Jason Holder. Phillips, Jos Buttler, Kagiso Rabada and Rashid Khan are their overseas players.
Shreyas Iyer said scores were comfortably chased down in a couple of practice games they’ve played at the venue. Shubman Gill said that the wicket has been under covers for the past couple of days but that it looks a good pitch.
From the North end, the square and fine boundaries are short while the straight one is long. Michael Clarke, at the pitch report, expected a high-scoring game and the toss not to make too much of a difference.
