A female foreign journalist was kidnapped in Baghdad on Tuesday by unknown parties, the Iraqi interior ministry said, without identifying her nationality.
Unconfirmed reports have named US journalist Shelly Kittleson as the woman kidnapped.
One suspect had been arrested, the ministry said, adding that efforts were ongoing to free the journalist.
