If you’ve spent the past 48 hours absolutely glued to your phone whilst panicking over every single update coming out of the newly-dramatic world of Summer House, you are not alone. And West Wilson and Amanda Batula finally released a joint statement about rumors that they’ve been secretly hooking up (reminder: rumor has it said hookup has ended Amanda’s friendship with Ciara Miller, who used to date West).
Hopping on Instagram Stories, the pair wrote “We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity. It was never our intention to purposefully hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involed and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
They added, in part, “What’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, long standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
Amanda and West ended the statement saying “As our freelings evovled, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling. We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just aus and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be percieved as careless.”

But the short version: there have been rumors—for several weeks now—that Amanda (who’s fresh off a separation from Kyle Cooke) and West are hooking up. Which is a huge deal since Amanda is best-best-BEST friends with Ciara, who went through a very messy relationship and breakup with West. In fact, they were still working through things as of the currently-airing season of Summer House (which was filmed last summer).
Unclear how the show will move forward from this, but the reunion special is filming in a mere matter of weeks so stay tuned….
