It’s no April Fools joke – parts of the island are in for another helping of snow today.
The system will bring snow and possibly ice pellets and freezing rain to parts of eastern Newfoundland, Terra Nova and the south coast.
Metro schools have been closed for the day.
The snow has already started in the southwest and will move east early this morning, hitting the metro region in time for the morning commute.
Environment Canada meteorologist David Neil says the northeast Avalon can expect about 10 to 15 cm once all is said and done later tonight.
The southern Avalon and Burin Peninsula may see the snow mix with freezing rain or ice pellets.
