The second series of I’m A Celebrity All Stars is nearly here, and the contestants have been snapped together in South Africa for the first time.
The programme kicks off on April 6, with major names including soap legend Beverley Callard, Olympian Mo Farah and a King and a Queen of the Jungle, Harry Redknapp and Scarlett Moffatt, in the line-up.
There will also be some stars seeking redemption, such as those who abandoned their previous appearance on the programme.
The cast were all captured together sporting their I’m A Celeb khakis and red tops, against the backdrop of the South African wilderness.
Gemma Collins, Harry Redknapp, Craig Charles and Jimmy Bullard will be the jungle latecomers, reports the Mirror.
Beverley Callard
Soap icon Beverley Callard attributes her stint on the 2020 series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, filmed in Wales during the Covid pandemic, provided her with a vital confidence boost.
The Coronation Street star, who came tenth on the ITV series six years ago, disclosed last month that since filming the programme in South Africa last year, she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, which was detected in the “very early stages”. She has subsequently undergone surgery, which involved the removal of lymph nodes.

Reflecting on her experience in Wales alongside the likes of Jordan North and Vernon Kay, Bev said it had transformed her.
“I do tend to suffer from low self-esteem,” she explained. “Without sounding big-headed, because people kept telling me they loved me and how down to earth I was, it gave me confidence, and it was lovely to be with such a wonderful group of people.”
As the programme returns for the second series featuring past “legends”, she’s delighted to be trading the bitter Welsh castle for the balmy South African jungle – but remains petrified of the trials. “You sit there thinking ‘please don’t let it be me’,” she confessed. “I am most scared of the eating trials.”
Scarlett Moffatt
Former Queen of the Jungle Scarlett Moffatt confessed she’s feeling nervous about entering camp again, despite triumphing in the series in 2016.
She intends to use the time away from home for a spot of personal relaxation away from being a mum to a toddler.
“It’s lovely to be able to show my little boy what I do as a job,” she said. “I am going to miss him loads, but it will also be nice to have some time just for me, especially as I’m A Celebrity has been such a big part of my life.”
The Gogglebox favourite, 35, revealed that receiving the call inviting her back had been absolutely thrilling.
Scarlett Moffatt is returning to the jungle
She said: “I was a bit overwhelmed. Out of all the people they could pick, I felt grateful that I was even a thought because so many people have done it. I am going to give it my all.”
Scarlett mentioned she was eagerly anticipating reuniting with the show’s hosts, fellow Geordies Ant and Dec, having collaborated with them on Saturday Night Takeaway. “When I first moved to London, they invited me round a few times to have dinner,” she said. “They are lovely people.”
Seann Walsh
Comic Seann Walsh secured fifth place on the 2022 series after entering as a late addition alongside Matt Hancock. He remains terrified of creepy crawlies, but acknowledges the programme rescued his stand-up career after he was snapped kissing his Strictly professional dance partner Katya Jones in 2018.
Reflecting on the impact the series had on him, he said: “It didn’t change me as a person, but it changed my life in a very positive way. I was able to go back on tour and sell out rooms again. I am forever grateful.

“The truth is outside of the jungle, I keep myself to a small group of friends and doing stand-up is extraordinary but lonely at times. I get nervous meeting new people, and so it’s nice to know I can do it.”
Now a father of two, Seann, 40, admits this time he will deeply miss his children. “In camp, time really slows down,” he said. “If my daughter says ‘I love you, daddy’, I start crying. Being apart from them is going to be difficult.”
David Haye
Former boxing champion David Haye came third in 2012.
He said the show made him recognise his talent for bonding with a group of strangers. “I’m quite easy to get on with, and I never had issues with mixing,” he said, noting that the camp had been relatively relaxed.
“Maybe this time around it might get saucier.”

Unfazed by the trials, which he claims were “quite easy”, the 45-year-old said he is most looking forward to encountering South Africa’s wildlife. “I really enjoyed the connection with Mother Nature. Chuck a bunch of cockroaches or spiders over me, I am pretty sure I will be fine.”
Sinitta
Pop star Sinitta was the second celebrity to be eliminated when she appeared in 2011, so she’s hoping to last considerably longer this time around.
“I did trial after trial, and then I got voted out, but I learned I can pull things out of the bag in extreme circumstances,” she said.
She’s eager for this return appearance to leave a profound mark on her.

The star said, “I’m hoping the South African jungle will cure me of my phobias, because it is quite debilitating being afraid of everything. I’ve been like that since I was six, and so it would be incredible to not only not be afraid anymore.”
And the 62-year-old added: “I’m also hoping that it will be a bit like an epiphany where I walk away with the feeling that I can do anything else I want to.”
Mo Farah
Sir Mo Farah, Olympic icon, finished fifth on the Welsh series in 2020, and says that now that he has hung up his running shoes, viewers may get to witness an entirely different side to him.
The last time I was in there was hard, because I was still competing and you worry about what you can and can’t say,” the 43-year-old explained.

“This time around, I am retired. I’ve got nothing to prove, and I can be more open. I can talk about things in more detail.”
Yet one thing remains unchanged – his deep-seated fear of snakes. “Even speaking about snakes makes me feel terrified,” he confessed. “There were so many things I was scared of when I did those trials, but it was the snakes that I found scariest.”
Ashley Roberts
Heart radio DJ Ashley Roberts was the runner-up in 2012, and she simply couldn’t turn down the opportunity to return for the legends edition.
“This show changed my life,” she said. “I’ve lived in the UK ever since I left the jungle 14 years ago, and that in itself is amazing. When I got the call, I knew it was going to be nuts again, but what a beautiful gift the programme gave me, and so I said ‘yes’.”
The 45-year-old, who worked with Ant and Dec on Saturday Night Takeaway, is dating 25-year-old tattoo artist George Rollinson and says he’s helping her to overcome her nerves.

She shared: “I have had some sleepless nights before arriving in South Africa. My boyfriend has been such a great cheerleader and supporter in the run-up because I have been so nervous. He keeps telling me I am going to smash it, which is lovely. I just want to try my best.”
Adam Thomas
Former Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas completed a remarkable 12 Bushtucker trials during the 2016 series, ultimately finishing third.
Now he’s returning for another attempt, and says that as a “people person” he’s eager to forge new friendships. A decade after his initial appearance on the programme, Adam, 37, admits he hasn’t overcome any of the phobias that troubled him previously.

“I just hope there aren’t too many spiders! I’m scared to death of them, as well as cockroaches,” he admitted.
He revealed his standout moment from his previous stint was returning from a trial and informing the group they would eat that evening.
He doesn’t believe he’ll claim first place, saying: “I’m not going in thinking I could win it – I am not very competitive. As long as I try my best that is all that matters.”
Latecomers
Gemma Collins has described her return to I’m A Celeb as “total redemption” after withdrawing four days into her first attempt. She remarked, “I just thought, I have to go back into that jungle. I was absolutely bricking it.”
Harry Redknapp shared that he has at least one person who owes him a favour, stating: “I have a pal in camp as I signed Jimmy Bullard when I was managing West Ham. We paid about £20,000 for him.”
Gemma Collins is hoping for ‘redemption’
Jimmy was on the show in 2014, following his retirement from football. He noted: “The camp was as close as I’ve been to a changing room since I left football. I loved it, but there were some dark times.”
Craig Charles also last appeared on the programme in 2014, when he had to withdraw due to a family tragedy back home. He commented, “I just want a bit of adventure. The last time it was cruelly cut short because my brother Dean passed away.”
