ATP Marrakech Day 3 Predictions Including Luciano Darderi vs Mattia Bellucci

Five matches are scheduled on Day 3 of the ATP 250 in Marrakech. One of those will be the first-round match between Hamad Medjedovic and Vit Kopriva, who were late arrivals after participating in the Napoli Challenger. The remaining four matches will determine the first batch of quarterfinalists. Who will advance?
ATP Marrakech Day 3 Predictions
Corentin Moutet vs Taha Baadi
Head-to-head: first meeting
It was a phenomenal opening day for the locals, who witnessed Taha Baadi register his first ATP win against Top 100 player Aleksandar Vukic. But this will be a different test. Moutet owns a far richer toolkit and is one of the most creative players on tour. The gap here is sizable. Moutet’s baseline-oriented tennis should make life uncomfortable for the home wild card.
Prediction: Moutet in 2
Kamil Majchrzak vs Marco Trungelliti
Head-to-head: Majchrzak 3-1 Trungelliti
This will be a rematch of last year’s qualifying match in this tournament. Majchrzak won that meeting in straight sets and went on to make the semifinals. That run was pivotal to his title success at the Madrid Challenger just a week later. This year, Majchrzak doesn’t have the burden of qualifying. His ranking is on an upward trajectory and earned his way into the main draw, where he defeated Juan Manuel Cerundolo.
Trungelliti, for his part, is thriving in the African continent. He won the Kigali Challenger a couple of weeks ago and stretched his winning streak to eight matches thanks to a pair of qualifying wins and the first-round upset of Henrique Rocha in Marrakech. But this match should be on the Pole’s racket. He’s got the higher floor right now and he controls the rally shape better.
Prediction: Majchrzak in 2
Yannick Hanfmann vs Karim Bennani
Head-to-head: first meeting
It was a historic opening day in Marrakech where two home wild cards defied the odds to win. One of them was Karim Bennani, who makes up the shortlist of the most exciting up-and-coming Moroccan tennis players. Home energy could spice things up, but Hanfmann is a bigger hitter with a heavy forehand. While the same was said of Quentin Halys, who eventually fell victim to Bennani in the first round, Hanfmann is a solid mover on this surface. His weight of shot should overwhelm the 18-year-old.
Prediction: Hanfmann in 2
Vit Kopriva vs Hamad Medjedovic
Head-to-head: Medjedovic 1-0 Kopriva
Kopriva had a worrying stumble against Francesco Forti in the first round of the Napoli Challenger. Medjedovic was in action in the same tournament this past week and he went on to win it, beating Daniel Altmaier in the final. After two brutal opening matches, the Serbian played flawless tennis from the quarterfinal stage. He’ll be riding on that wave of momentum here and I think form points towards a one-sided victory.
Prediction: Medjedovic in 2
Luciano Darderi vs Mattia Bellucci
Head-to-head: Darderi 1-1 Bellucci
For Darderi, the Sunshine Swing was a forgettable experience. He went 0-2 in Indian Wells and Miami, and the Italian will seek a first win since lifting the ATP Santiago title during the Golden Swing. Bellucci survived a real scare in his opening match this week, defeating home wild card Reda Bennani in three sets. That was his first win on clay since the 2025 edition of this tournament. Recent results should be a non-factor here. Clay is very much Darderi’s natural habitat. He won 30 matches on the surface last year and should be expected to bounce back after a lacklustre showing on hard courts.
Prediction: Darderi in 2
