Tyson Fury makes feelings clear on his father amid claim their relationship is ‘destroyed’

Tyson Fury has broken his silence on the ongoing row between his father John and former world champion Carl Froch, branding the entire saga a publicity stunt.

It marks the first time the Gypsy King has spoken about John since his dad said their relationship had been ‘destroyed’ by boxing.

Speaking to OOOSCH TV ahead of his 11 April comeback bout against Arslan Makhmudov, the heavyweight dismissed the confrontation as nothing more than attention-seeking.

“To be honest with you, it’s all for views and clicks,” Fury stated. “I think the Saudis were very happy with it all. It gained a lot of global attention.”

He acknowledged his 61-year-old father’s ability to generate headlines, describing him as “gold at it” when it comes to creating hype.

The dispute erupted at last month’s press conference promoting Tyson Fury’s upcoming fight, where John Fury launched a tirade of abuse at Froch.

The 61-year-old repeatedly yelled “run like a f***ing b***h” at the former super-middleweight champion, who was present in his capacity as a DAZN broadcaster.

John later explained his outburst was prompted by Froch “making videos” about him.

The former world champion responded by accepting the challenge to fight on his son’s undercard, declaring that “it might be my job to finally shut this big gobs***e up.”

Froch subsequently revealed that discussions with broadcasters had taken place regarding a potential bout between the pair.

However, he claimed negotiations had stalled due to John’s insistence that his other son, Tommy, be included on the fight card.

“He’s basically put a blockade in there with his son, Tommy,” Froch stated on his YouTube channel.

“Which is ridiculous because, let’s be honest, no-one gives a s**t about Tommy fighting. Who cares?”

Despite the public back-and-forth, no formal agreement has been reached between the 48-year-old former champion and John, who turns 62 this year.

Fury was scathing in his assessment of both men’s behaviour, questioning the logic behind the proposed contest.

“Do you think I’m going to let my dad fight Carl Froch? How’s he going to fight a 60-year-old man? Have some brains, you silly f***er. Both of them,” he said.

The heavyweight also took aim at Froch’s motivations, accusing the former champion of attempting to “boost his name off an old man’s name.”

Fury concluded by urging both parties to reconsider their approach to the situation.

“They need to just have a bit of sense and show some professionalism in this game,” he added.
