Confirmed Chelsea line up vs Arsenal | News | Official Site

Sonia Bompastor has made two changes to her Chelsea side for our Women’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues need to overturn a 3-1 deficit from the first leg at the Emirates Stadium, which saw Lauren James score our only goal of the evening.

We bounced back from that disappointment with an exciting 4-3 win over Aston Villa at Kingsmeadow in the Women’s Super League on Sunday, and Bompastor has made two alterations from the side that earned that hard-fought victory.

Kadeisha Buchanan comes into the starting XI in place of Naomi Girma, while Erin Cuthbert is given the nod and the captain’s armband for the evening as Wieke Kaptein is named on the bench.

Striker Sam Kerr retains her place in the side, fresh from her appearance in the Asian Cup final and her goal against Villa at the weekend.

Chelsea: Hampton, Carpenter, Buurman, Nusken, Cuthbert (c), James, Thompson, Kerr, Bronze, Buchanan, Walsh

Chelsea Substitutes: Peng, Spencer, Sarwie, Girma, Baltimore, Kaptein, Charles, Potter
