Tonight’s Libra full moon invites you to take an honest look at the areas of your life that are unsteady, the relationships that aren’t quite reciprocal. You’ve been working hard to adjust for any imbalances, but at a certain point, the problems become too great for you to solve on your own. Today is a good day to be honest about what’s not working, and to get serious about holding yourself and the people in your life accountable. Genuine change is possible, but everyone has to do their part.

Today, you might have the uncomfortable realization that the people around you don’t see you in the same way you see yourself. Maybe they’re overlooking the traits that you thought were most obvious, or maybe they’re projecting their own emotions and insecurities onto you, seeing only what they want to see. The apparent disconnect could leave you feeling lonely and misunderstood — but it isn’t all bad. Sometimes, others see your best qualities much more clearly than you do, so consider listening to what they have to say.

Some people seem happy to quit things at the drop of a hat, trusting that when they walk away from one opportunity, they’ll soon find another one that’s just as good, if not better. But this probably isn’t your approach — you worry that you’ll end up regretting it if you let go of anything, even the ideas or relationships you’ve outgrown. Today, try to have the courage to release things that truly aren’t working for you anymore. The effort it takes to keep holding on isn’t worth it; free up that mental space for something new.

You might not see yourself as a particularly ambitious person — you’d rather enjoy your life than run yourself ragged trying to turn lofty dreams into reality. Every so often, though, it’s important to check in with yourself, making sure that you’re happy with the choices you’ve made. It’s so easy to tell yourself that you’re holding back because that’s what you want, when in reality, you’re doing so because you’re scared of failure. If you realize that you actually want more out of life, don’t be afraid to take big swings today.

It’s easy to get the impression that nobody ever learns from their mistakes — so many people seem to repeat the same bad behaviors over and over again, never facing any real consequences. It’s maddening, and you might eventually start to feel foolish for trying so hard to learn and grow and do the right thing, even when it’s difficult. Today, though, you might finally get some sense that your efforts haven’t been wasted, that your hard work will pay off in the end.

You can sometimes be hesitant to change your mind — or at least to admit to anyone else that your opinions have evolved. You worry that it’s a sign of weakness, that if others realize you’ve ever been wrong before, then they’ll take you less seriously now. But it’s important to give yourself space to grow, even if it’s not always comfortable. Today, especially, clinging to ideas after you’ve outgrown them will only make life feel stressful and stagnant. In the long run, you’ll be glad you gave yourself permission to change.

When you’re dissatisfied with the course your life has taken, you’re good at identifying potential culprits. You tell yourself that if one particular moment had turned out better, or if one person simply stopped getting in your way, everything would be different. But today, try not to expend all your energy trying to pinpoint the source of your discontent. The truth is that there will always be unexpected obstacles and irritating people, and there’s no use trying to wish them away. Instead, it’s up to you to keep going in spite of them.

You’re constantly growing and changing; you strive to continually learn from the world around you, becoming kinder, wiser, a better person. But change tends to happen gradually; it’s often so slow that you don’t even notice it happening. Today, try to take a step back and give yourself a little credit for how far you’ve come. You might worry that you’re being smug, or that it’ll make you unmotivated to continue learning, but if anything, recognizing how much your efforts have paid off will give you the encouragement you need to keep going.

You aren’t scared to take risks — at least, not when you can do so privately. When you can sense that others are watching you, though, the stakes feel higher. You don’t mind the thought of failing and trying again, you just don’t want anyone else to witness it. But today, it’s important not to let your fear of being judged prevent you from living fully. You can’t always control how others see you, anyway, so you might as well do what you want and take big swings, regardless of who’s there to see it.

When you compare yourself to the people around you, you always seem to come up short — you’ll always manage to find someone who has achieved more than you, or who’s had more impressive experiences, or who possess talents you lack. But today, try not to let it knock your confidence too much. Nobody is good at everything; every life involves tradeoffs. The best thing you can do right now is focus on the unique gifts you do have, rather than fixate on what you imagine yourself to be missing.

You do your best to learn from past heartbreaks and embarrassments; if you can at least grow from your negative experiences, then they won’t have been in vain. Today, just be careful not to keep ruminating, past the point where it’s actually useful to you. Eventually, you have to take what you’ve learned and move forward — and to do that, you have to forgive yourself for all the things you wish you’d done differently. You have a responsibility to keep growing, not to keep berating yourself for old mistakes.

You’ll probably be unusually busy today — with so much on your plate, you’ll have less patience for anything unimportant, for anyone who seems to be wasting your time. This can be a good thing, helping you focus on what matters, and giving you the push you need to let the rest go. Just remember that things can still be worth your time, even if they’re not useful in a practical sense; if an activity is simply enjoyable, or if a person can make you laugh, that might be enough.

Sometimes, you do things the same way, over and over again — not because it’s enjoyable, or even because it’s effective, but simply because it’s become a habit. Once you establish a pattern, it can feel virtually impossible to break free again — but today, it won’t be nearly as difficult as you’re imagining. Nobody’s holding you back: If you don’t like the way things are going, you can simply decide to try something new. It might not get results immediately, but it won’t hurt to try.
