Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? fans have been promised the most dramatic series of the ITV show yet as the latest series is set to air this month. At least one contestant is guaranteed to win the whopping £1 million prize.

In an exclusive reveal, the new season will see two contestants make it all the way through to the final £1 million question which left them just one response away from winning the life-changing sum.

Only six people have ever taken home the top prize and since Jeremy Clarkson took on the role of host, only one person has managed the feat. Previous £1 million winners are Judith Keppel (2000), David Edwards (2001), Robert Brydges (2001), Pat Gibson (2004) and Ingram Wilcox (2006).

One contestant will be taking home the grand prize

Donald Fear was crowned the show’s sixth winner on11 September 2020 and the first person to take home the prize in almost 15 years.

Sadly, this season one person also loses out on £186,000 as one of the biggest losses in the show’s history, which secures series 36 as perhaps the most dramatic season so far.

Details of the contestants and what happens in the upcoming series have been kept quiet as fans will be scratching their heads as to whether one or more people will join the £1 million prize winner’s club.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire returns to your telly this month on ITV.

ITV describes WWTBAM as a “tense gameshow where contestants compete for a top prize of one million pounds” as they “answer fifteen questions correctly with just a handful of lifelines to help them”.

Jeremy Clarkson took over the role of show host back in 2018 and has only seen one winner in the eight years on the job.
