UFC Fight Night 268: Marlon Vera vs. David Martinez odds, picks and predictions

In a 3-round bantamweight bout on the main card, Marlon Vera and David Martinez meet Saturday at UFC Fight Night 268 — also known as UFC Mexico — at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. The prelims begin at 5 p.m. ET and the main card starts at 8 p.m. ET, all on Paramount+. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s UFC odds around the UFC Fight Night 268: Vera vs. Martinez odds, and make our expert UFC picks and predictions.

Records: Vera (23-11-1) | Martinez (13-1-0)

Vera has been skidding since losing via unanimous decision at UFC 299 in a title bout against Sean O’Malley nearly 2 years ago. He lost in a unanimous decision against Deiveson Figueiredo in a fight night in Aug. 2024 and then suffered a split-decision setback to Aiemann Zahabi on Oct. 18, 2025, in another fight night.

Vera made his debut at UFC 180 in Mexico City back on Nov. 15, 2014, where he lost via unanimous decision against Marco Beltran. Now, he is at Arena CDMX looking to remain on the UFC roster, likely needing a win to do so.

Martinez, a.k.a. “Black Spartan”, makes his third appearance at the UFC level, and his second fight in front of the fans in his native Mexico. He earned a Round 1 KO/TKO against Saimon Oliveira on March 29, 2025, in his UFC debut in Mexico City, then posted a unanimous-decision win over Rob Font at Noche UFC in San Antonio on Sept. 13, 2025.

The 33-year-old Vera has a 3-inch reach advantage while Martinez holds a slight 4.85-to-4.25 significant-strikes-landed-per-minute advantage. Martinez is almost even with Vera in accuracy, albeit in just 2 UFC fights, hitting at 53.86%. Vera has a 51.33% significant strikes accuracy percentage.

Martinez hasn’t yet recorded a takedown, while Vera has a 0.49 average in the category while posting a 39.29% takedown accuracy rate. He also has a 0.80 submission average.

UFC Fight Night 268: Vera vs. Martinez picks and predictions

Desperate times call for desperate measures. I think we’re going to see the best from VERA (+240), who needs a win badly. Even in Mexico, against all odds, with Vera’s back to the wall, he should get the job done.

The Ecuadorian fighter is worth a look in a 3-round battle, and he should use his 3-inch reach advantage to push and pull the inexperienced Martinez in and out. Even better, if Vera can get this fight to the canvas, as he is 10-0 via submission in 35 career professional bouts across all levels.

And, if you really want to roll the dice, VERA BY DECISION/TECHNICAL DECISION (+500) for the chance to multiply up by 5 times is worth a shot. He has gone the distance in 5 consecutive fights and in 9 of his past 12 since May 16, 2020.

Yes (-350): Fight to go the distance will cost you 3 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s way too expensive.

As such, AVOID, and look to the 2-way moneyline, as well as the method of victory.
