Left-Winger Sarah Spain Complains About IOC Banning Males From Women’s Sports

The debate is over: the most unhinged, radical left-wing person in sports media is Sarah Spain. As if that wasn’t already clear when the ESPNW contributor went on a tirade calling Vice President J.D. Vance a “demon” during the Winter Olympics, Spain decided to make it crystal clear on a recent episode of her podcast.

The episode, titled “Exclusion With a New Name”, sets the table right away. Spain starts the episode by wishing everyone a “Happy Trans Day of Visibility” because nothing says “listen to my podcast about sports” more than wishing a “Happy Trans Day of Visibility.”

If you can’t tell from the title and intro, Spain has thoughts about the International Olympic Committee banning males from women’s events. It’s not going to come as a surprise that she is all-in on men competing in women’s sports, which is a fascinating position to take for someone who was a former college athlete.

Spain, presumably, competed in the women’s category. But since her career is long over, she doesn’t seem worried if males take spots from this generation’s female athletes.

Spain Continues Radical Left-Wing Crusade

I don’t want you guys to have to actually listen to Sarah Spain, that’s my job, but it’s hard to truly convey her tone of voice when she’s discussing these topics. She has the most condescending tone I’ve ever heard, which makes her message very clear: anyone who disagrees with her radical opinions is evil.

So, let’s dive into this specific episode.

“There’s not nearly enough time to dig into all that’s going on in the world of trans inclusion in sport, Olympic sex testing, and just the general decay of humanity.”

This made me chuckle. Spain implies that banning males from women’s sports is helping lead to the “decay of humanity” when, quite literally, the opposite is true. Nothing erodes a society faster than allowing its members to live in a false reality and trampling on the rights of a large group to placate a delusional minority.

“The outcome of this new policy is that all trans women will be banned from female categories, many athletes with differences of sex development will be banned, and every single woman who wants to compete will be subjected to a test to determine if she is indeed, in the eyes of the IOC, a real woman.”

Let’s go ahead and fix this immediately for you, Sarah. Since I know facts, science and the truth are important to you, we want to make sure we have the facts straight. The outcome of this new policy is that all MALES will be banned from FEMALE categories. There we go. Now it’s accurate.

As far as the second part, yes, people like Sarah Spain have fought so hard to allow males to compete in women’s sports and enter women’s private spaces that now real women have to prove that they are real women. This wouldn’t be necessary if we had a functioning society filled with common-sense thinking and rational humans.

But, instead, we have people like Sarah Spain. So, I’m with you Sarah: it sucks that women have to prove that they are actually women. But it’s because of people like you, not because of people like us. You’d do well to remember that.

The Science Is Clear, But Spain Ignores It

“According to medical experts and geneticists, including the scientists who actually discovered the SRY gene, the existence of the gene proving that one has experienced male sex development and enjoys its potential benefits is far too simplistic of a take.”

A common theme for the left-wingers when talking about banning males from women’s sports had centered on fearmongering. Essentially, they know their position is indefensible, so they have to attack the methods instead of the policy itself.

In this case, Spain is arguing that the test that will be used to determine eligibility for the female category isn’t reliable enough. Essentially, she wants to make people believe that real women will be excluded from women’s events because of a faulty testing mechanism.

Again, the strategy is to distract from the core argument. They want males competing in women’s sports, they know it’s illogical and unpopular, so they have to come at it from different angles.

“It ignores literal decades of science that have disproved the theory that it’s a simple XX/XY situation.”

This would be a hilarious statement if it weren’t so sad. We have “decades” of science saying that XX and XY don’t determine sex? Huh. I thought we had millennia of science saying what is a man and what is a woman. And, yes, it is that simple. They want to overcomplicate the issue because it’s a rhetorical tactic for those on the wrong side of the argument.

Sarah Spain wants to be seen as pro women’s sports but her constant crusade to allow males in the female category undermines everything she claims to stand for.

“It feels, as with most trans policy, a solution looking for a problem.”

This is quite a disgusting thing for someone to say, particularly for a woman to say. Tell the women who have been violated by males in their locker rooms or the women who have been displaced in their sports or the women who have been physically injured by males in their spaces in the name of “inclusion” that there isn’t a “problem.”

“The point of sport is to find the part of it that brings you joy, that keeps you moving… that gives you a community…”

No, that’s actually not the point of sports, Sarah. That’s a definition invented by the left-wing because they hate the true meaning of sports: fair competition. Sports are inherently exclusive, not inclusive. If you’re not good enough, you don’t get to play on the team.

Spain is regurgitating the classic “participation trophy” view of sports that didn’t exist until the past 20 years or so. Before that, people understood what sports were about. And they teach people things like discipline, self-control, delayed gratification and many other important life lessons. The “joy” comes from hard work paying off, not just being on a team where you don’t belong.

You Can Be Pro-Trans or Pro-Woman But Not Both

“There are thirteen times more proposed anti-trans bills than out trans athletes… eighty-five times as many bills when you’re just talking about trans girls and women.”

It’s like Sarah Spain is running for office as a Democrat because she’s just parroting the same talking points that AOC and several other radical left-wing Dems paraded out after President Donald Trump signed an executive order banning males from women’s sports.

One male athlete on a women’s team is too many. And one male on one women’s team can affect upwards of thousands of women. But these leftists never think about those women. They are so ingrained in the idea that the male’s feelings are more important than anything else.

“Placing faith in, particularly male coaches or administrators at the youth level to properly handle ‘gender investigations’ is insane to me.”

Here’s another perfect example of Spain using the exact same argument as AOC. There must be an email blast that goes out to all the radical left-wingers and delivers them the talking points because they all sound the same.

They want to scare people into thinking there are going to be “invasive genital exams” when there’s literally no proof of that. The test is a cheek swab or a blood test. It would be performed during a routine athletic physical by a medical professional. These scare tactics are yet another distraction.

What makes Sarah Spain so revealing on this issue is that she still wants the credibility of being seen as a champion for women while using her platform to attack the very rules that make women’s sports possible in the first place.

Female athletes now have to prove they are female, but that didn’t come out of nowhere. It’s the result of activists like Spain insisting for years that sex boundaries were hateful instead of necessary.

Spare us the lectures about “joy,” “inclusion” and fake moral outrage. Women’s sports exist to protect women, and people who cannot say that plainly are not defending female athletes.

They’re defending their ideology.
