Instead of taking it to local car meets or flaunting it on social media, the owner essentially turned the iconic Japanese sports car into the ultimate piece of household decor.
For roughly 18 years, the vehicle was stored inside the owner’s second-floor living room. It remained hidden from the public eye, perfectly preserved away from the elements.
Recently, the specialty automotive group Chrome Cars managed to track down the elusive JDM icon, successfully negotiating its extraction from the Norwegian residence. But with a franchise known for building dozens of stunt clones, how do we know this is the real deal?
Former Fast & Furious technical advisor Craig Lieberman, the man responsible for sourcing the franchise’s early vehicles and with a huge following on social media, has officially authenticated the find.
Lieberman confirmed that this specific R34 is the primary Hero 1 car. It isn’t a shell placed on a lesser chassis or a banged-up stunt jumper; this is the exact, pristine vehicle used for Paul Walker’s interior close-ups and stationary beauty shots.
What is the Holy Grail of Tuner Cars Worth?
In the world of movie memorabilia, it doesn’t get much bigger than a surviving, unmolested Hero 1 car tied directly to Paul Walker.
While Chrome Cars currently holds the keys, the automotive community is already speculating on its staggering value. To put things in perspective, other authentic hero vehicles from the Fast franchise have previously hammered at auction for upwards of $1.35 million. Given the immense cultural impact of this specific silver and blue R34, experts suggest that if it ever rolls onto an auction block, it will easily command a multi-million dollar price tag.
