Emmerdale explains huge Graham Foster twist as major Kim mystery is resolved

Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale has revealed the identity of the person who poisoned Kim Tate — and it’s none other than Graham Foster. The twist was revealed to viewers during Wednesday’s (1 April) episode, but Kim herself remains unaware, believing she collapsed because of an accidental overdose of her pain medication.
Graham was seen to be making a mysterious phone call to an unknown person after tampering with her medicine cupboard, saying he would have to find another way to get rid of her after his “double dose” failed.

Speaking about the scenes, actor Andrew Scarborough, who plays Graham, said his character still holds a massive grudge over the fact Kim tried to kill him.
“Graham is clearly still incredibly angry that Kim tried to kill him six years ago,” he said. “This resulted in him faking his own death to escape the hit she put out on him. He lost Rhona in this process, so he still hasn’t forgiven Kim for that.
“She took six years of his life away. That is why he just tried to kill her — for revenge.”
Although Graham’s attempt on Kim’s life failed, Andrew wondered if there might be a subconscious reason for that, saying: “I am not convinced his whole heart was in it because their relationship is complicated. I think if his whole heart were in it, he would have actually made it happen.”

Tonight, Chas Dingle was very unsettled when news spread that Kim’s collapse was due to a poisoning, and Cain Dingle and Caleb Milligan were at each other’s throats as accusations and theories quickly got out of hand. Meanwhile, Joe Tate returned from his trip to be at Kim’s bedside, but she wasn’t exactly chuffed to see him.
Graham will continue to be at the heart of the action next week, when an unresolved plot point from the Corriedale crossover is finally re-addressed.
The episode, which marked Graham’s surprise return, saw him let Coronation Street newcomer Jodie Ramsey go free from the back of a van he was driving.
Fans of both soaps have been waiting for answers as to why Jodie was being held captive and what Graham’s exact role in it was and it seems the latter point, at least, might finally be on the verge of being revisited.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
