FREE holiday camp spaces rolled out in Milton Keynes, thanks to charity

HUNDREDS of youngsters will enjoy free football camps this Easter, thanks to a new partnership between MK Dons FC’s charity and The George Baldock Foundation.
MK Dons Community Trust has teamed up with the foundation to offer 50 free spaces at its holiday camps delivered at Tattenhoe Sports Pavilion each day during the first week of the Easter break.
A hot meal will be included as part of the day too, plus each participant will receive a George Baldock Foundation branded football and t-shirt to take home. There’ll be opportunities to meet players from the Dons’ first-team too, and club mascots Donnie and Mooie.
It follows the successful George Baldock Foundation Dinner at Stadium MK in November, with funds raised from the event actioning free spaces for 120 families.
The same initiative is being rolled out in Sheffield, with Sheffield United Community Foundation also offering free spaces at its Easter camps this month.
Sam Baldock, brother of George, established The George Baldock Foundation last summer and was pleased to support underprivileged families by offering the free spaces.
Sam said:
“Opportunity means everything. And I know George would’ve wanted to ensure as many children as possible in Milton Keynes and Sheffield could access free holiday camp spaces.
“Both clubs and the communities attached to them meant the world to George. This is our way of creating good from tragic circumstances.
“Holiday camps were at the heart of our school holidays growing up.
“Knowing there are children out there who might not be able to attend because of financial pressures families might be facing is hard to process in 2026.
“But, it is the reality of the world we live in and why we are so proud to work in partnership with MK Dons Community Trust and Sheffield United Community Foundation to make playing provisions as accessible to as many people as possible this Easter.
“A huge thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising dinner in November, your support really has helped make a difference locally.”
All funded spaces created by The George Baldock Foundation have been reserved, with a waiting list established in the case of any late dropouts.
Hannah Bladen, Head of Community Development at MK Dons Community Trust, added:
“Holiday camps develop skills not only essential to the pitch, but to everyday life.
“Teamwork, communication, problem solving and friendship building all form part of our day-to-day delivery.
“We are so grateful to The George Baldock Foundation for making opportunities of this kind available to children in Milton Keynes this Easter. It is a wonderful gesture and testament to George’s family and those who knew him for ensuring his name will carry a lasting legacy.”
