What is open and closed in Toronto on the 2026 Easter long weekend

Many tourist attractions, including the CN Tower, will be open on the stat holiday. Libraries, banks, government offices, and most grocery stores will be closed
Here is a look at what is open and closed in Toronto during the 2026 Easter long weekend.
Shopping centres
Most malls, including Yorkdale, Square One, Vaughan Mills, Scarborough Town Centre, Sherway Gardens, Fairview Mall, Bramalea City Centre, Erin Mills Town Centre, and Shops at Don Mills, are closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
The Eaton Centre and Pacific Mall are among the malls that will operate on reduced hours on both the Friday and Sunday.
Most malls return to regular operating hours on Monday, April 6, 2026.
Tourist attractions
Most major tourist attractions will be open throughout the long weekend, including the CN Tower, Ripley’s Aquarium, the Royal Ontario Museum, The Art Gallery of Ontario, the Toronto Zoo, Casa Loma, the Hockey Hall of Fame, and Little Canada.
Grocery stores
Most grocery stores will close on both Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Some stores, including select Farm Boy locations, will have modified hours on Good Friday.
The Loblaws on Carlton Street will be open on both days. Rabba Fine Food locations will also remain open throughout the long weekend. Most T&T Supermarket locations will also be open.
LCBO and Beer Store
LCBO and Beer Store locations will be closed on both Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Some wine rack locations will remain open.
Transit
GO Transit will operate on a Saturday schedule on Good Friday. The TTC will operate on a holiday schedule on Good Friday. Regular service will run on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for both GO Transit and the TTC.
Government offices/ libraries
The Toronto Public Library will close all branches on Friday, Sunday, and Monday.
Most major banks will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Government offices, including Service Canada and ServiceOntario, will be closed throughout the long weekend.
Toronto City Hall and all civic centres will be closed on Good Friday and Eastern Monday.
