Team news: Odegaard and Dowman start v Southampton

Martin Odegaard returns to captain us at St Mary’s for our Emirates FA Cup quarter-final clash against Southampton.

Our skipper, who last started against Brentford in February, is one of seven changes from the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.

Kepa Arrizabalaga starts in goal, with Ben White, Cristhian Mosquera, Gabriel Magalhaes and Myles Lewis-Skelly making up the backline.

Christian Norgaard joins Martin in the midfield. Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, Max Dowman and Gabriel Jesus complete the line-up on the south coast.

Three academy starlets are among the substitutes, with Andre Harriman-Annous, Marli Salmon and Ceadach O’Neill all on Mikel Arteta’s bench.

As for our hosts, Nathan Wood comes in at the back for Jack Stephens, Cam Bragg replaces the suspended Flynn Downes, Casper Jander starts over Cameron Archer, Leo Scienza is in for Shea Charles, and Ross Stewart starts up top over Cyle Larin.
