Detroit rock legend is the ‘Saturday Night Live’ musical guest this weekend

“Saturday Night Live” is playing the name game this weekend when it comes to both its host and its musical guest.
Both have the first name Jack, with each having the opposite colors as their last names.
Actor Jack Black will host and join the Five-Timers club. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Jack White, who is from Detroit, will perform.
Black talked about the unusual pairing with Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” last night.
“What a one-two punch,” Black told Fallon. “I got the call that I was going to be on ‘SNL.” I didn’t know who the musical guest was going to be. And then I got a call from Jack White, and he was like, what do you think? Should we do this ‘SNL’ thing?”
“I was like, what are you talking about?” Black added. “He’s like, wait, they didn’t tell you? I was like, no, you’re going to be the musical guest? And he was like, I’m thinking about it. Should we? I wanted to check with you first. I was like, hell yes, we should!”
Black says he has always wanted something like this to happen in the world of entertainment.
“I’ve always wanted to secretly, like, party with Jack White because, we’re like, the opposite sides of the Jack spectrum. It’s like a no-brainer, but we’ve never had the opportunity and we’re going to finally mix it up and see what happens.”
White has appeared on “SNL” four times as a solo artist and once with The White Stripes. His last appearance was on February 25, 2023 where he became a member of the “Five-Timers Club.”
