Jack Black and Jack White Kick Off SNL Crossover Episode with “Seven Nation Army” Performance

If there was any doubt that SNL would lean hard into the crossover potential of its Jack Black–Jack White double booking, the two appeared together during the show’s monologue. In a sketch celebrating Black’s entrance into SNL’s Five-Timers Club, White joined his fellow Jack for a revamped rendition of “Seven Nation Army.”
As per tradition, Black was welcomed into the Five-Timers Club by several previous inductees, including Tina Fey, Jonah Hill, Candice Bergen, and Melissa McCarthy. However, Black was shocked to learn that the once-glorious club had fallen into disrepair: “What started off as a one-off joke in a Tom Hanks monologue has been brought back so many times, it has literally been run into the ground. For example, this is my fifth Five-Timers Club stint,” Fey explained.
Black then decided he was “gonna fix it by singing the world’s most rockin’ song,” prompting him and his Jack Zebra compadre to perform “Seven Nation Army” with reworked lyrics about the Five-Timers Club and the night’s episode.
