UCLA women’s basketball stars Lauren Betts, Sienna Betts, and Kiki Rice can etch their names in March Madness history with a win over South Carolina in the national championship game on Sunday.
All three have excelled on the court since joining the Bruins, who are now one victory away from winning the program’s first national championship in the NCAA tournament era. If UCLA wins it all, the Betts sisters will join one WNBA star in an exclusive March Madness club.
Lauren, who was selected to the All-America first team and named a finalist for the John R. Wooden award, which is given to the nation’s top player, is touted as a top WNBA draft prospect once her college career in southern California comes to a close on Sunday.

Her younger sister, Sienna, is a freshman at UCLA with sky-high potential after coming in as one of the brightest high school prospects in the nation.
She’s already contributed plenty in her first season in the Division I ranks, averaging 6.2 points per game, and her role is expected to continue to grow as she progresses through college.
Rice, a senior guard for the Bruins who ranked behind only Lauren among the team’s scoring leaders this season with 15.1 points per game, has also been a standout performer for Cori Close’s team on its March Madness journey.
Not only have all three players shown their merit as top-end college basketball stars and WNBA-caliber talents, but they have each excelled in the classroom, too.

Rice’s academic resume is perhaps the most impressive of the three.
The Washington, DC native is a communications major at UCLA and boasts a 3.85 GPA, according to the Bruins’ official website.
She was awarded the NCAA Elite 90 trophy in 2025, which is “given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the finals site for each of the NCAA’s 90 championships.”
While Rice appears destined for a future in the pros, her academic prowess is equally as impressive as her ability on the basketball court.

The Betts sisters, who were born in and grew up in Spain before attending Grandview High School in Aurora, Colorado, have maintained a strong reputation in the classroom, too, even while becoming the most recognizable sibling duo in college basketball.
According to Sports Illustrated, Sienna maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA in high school, while Lauren was named to the Big Ten Winter Academic Honor Roll in 2025 for finishing with at least a 3.0 GPA, according to the LA Sentinel.
After all, excelling at the highest level of Division I college basketball demands more than just athletic ability, and the Betts sisters and Rice bring exceptional intelligence both on and off the court.
