Lady Gaga, Doechii Team Up for ‘Devil Wears Prada 2’ Song ‘Runway’

20th Century Studios has released another trailer for the upcoming film, “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” including a first listen at the new original song “Runway” by Lady Gaga and Doechii.

The track, which features an upbeat dance rhythm, plays over the trailer.

“The Devil Wears Prada 2” will follow Meryl Streep as Runway magazine’s editor-in-chief, Miranda Priestly, dealing with the decline of print journalism and attempting to find her footing in a dying industry. Priestly finds herself facing off against Emily Blunt’s character, her former assistant who is now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising money that Priestly desperately needs.

Last year, Gaga praised “Anxiety” singer Doechii in an interview with British Vogue. Gaga said, “You don’t often see someone come out of the gate with a pen that feels immediately legendary. That’s Doechii to me. I fell in love with her music and her raw, deeply personal perspective.” She added, “The power in her words, her vulnerability, the way she rhymes with this wild mix of audacity and emotional precision – it struck me to the core.”

As previously reported, Gaga is set to make an appearance in the fashion film. She shot her scenes amid her Mayhem Ball Tour last year. The “Devil Wears Prada 2″ marks the multi-hyphenate superstar’s first big-screen appearance since “Joker: Folie à Deux.” Gaga also appeared in a cameo role on Netflix’s “Wednesday.”

Based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel, “The Devil Wears Prada” follows aspiring journalist Andrea “Andy” Sachs (Hathaway), who is hired at glossy fashion magazine Runway and finds herself at the mercy of its demanding editor-in-chief, Miranda Priestly (Streep), and all her whims and withering glances. The dishy book is a roman à clef; Weisberger briefly worked as Anna Wintour’s assistant at Vogue.
