Reddit goes down, sparking 15K outage reports before resolved

Tens of thousands of Reddit users reported problems using the popular social media platform during an outage on Monday, April 6, that has since resolved.
According to the outage tracker Downdetector, issues began around 2:30 p.m. ET, with a peak of more than 15,000 reports at 3 p.m. ET. Reddit confirmed problems with the site in a message on its status page.
“We’re experiencing an elevated level of errors and are currently looking into the issue,” Reddit said at around 2:49 p.m. ET. About 15 minutes later, Reddit said it had identified an issue and fixed it and was “monitoring the results.”

The status page stated that the issue was resolved just before 4 p.m. ET. Downdetector data shows that Reddit outage reports returned to near its baseline at around 6 p.m. ET after a significant drop around 3:30 p.m. ET.
