At least one injured in shooting near Pauls Valley High School

PAULS VALLEY, Okla. –
The school principal is injured, and one person is detained following a shooting at Pauls Valley High School, according to the Garvin County Sheriff’s Office.
GCSO said a principal, Kirk Moore, was shot in the leg and airlifted to the hospital.

Authorities said no students were injured in the shooting.
The school confirmed that there is no ongoing threat at this time.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations, Pauls Valley Police and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol are responding to the scene.
In a statement, authorities said,
“Today, an incident involving a reported shooting occurred in the lobby area of Pauls Valley High School.
All students have been confirmed safe and accounted for. Principal Kirk Moore sustained injuries during the incident and is currently listed in stable condition.
Law enforcement responded promptly and secured the scene. There is no ongoing threat at this time. Suspect has been detained.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available.”
After-school programs canceled
The Donald W. Reynolds Recreation Center said that due to the shooting at Pauls Valley High School,8 after-school activities are canceled.
The center said that all Pauls Valley Public Schools buses are on hold, and the Whitebead School District won’t be bringing its buses either.
The center asked parents to pick their children up directly from their school.
