LIDO Festival has rescheduled their Maribou State show to August, and cancelled CMAT and Bombay Bicycle Club’s dates

Victoria Park’s LIDO festival have confirmed a one-off date adjustment, shifting from their originally planned June slot to late August in a bid to protect the condition of the park’s grounds.

Of the three days originally scheduled, only one has been successfully rescheduled. Maribou State and the full support bill will now take place on 31st August. The events on 12th June, which was set to feature CMAT, Father John Misty and Sharon Van Etten, and 14th June, headlined by Bombay Bicycle Club and Metronomy, have both been cancelled outright. Full refunds will be issued automatically to affected ticketholders.

Organisers were keen to stress that no blame lies with the artists or London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH), noting all parties have been fully supportive of the decision. An extensive reseeding programme carried out by AEG following well-reported dust issues during last summer’s drought has left the park in strong condition for community use. However, after one of the wettest winters in recent memory, advisors felt the newly restored areas needed additional recovery time before a large-scale event could be staged.

AEG Presents UK & European Festivals CEO Jim King said: “We’re committed to delivering the best and most sustainable event experiences for fans, artists and the community, and to doing so responsibly. The improvement works mean Victoria Park is in great condition for everyday use, and this one‑off adjustment simply protects that progress before hosting a major event. Moving LIDO to August means stronger events this year and a park that’s even better placed for the years ahead. We thank LBTH for their understanding in permitting this accommodation, which supports the best outcome for park users and local residents.”

LBTH permitted the schedule change and confirmed that all financial commitments remain intact, with AEG’s community programme support and proposed capital investment for Victoria Park unaffected by the adjustment.
