WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump on Thursday pointed to a deadly hammer attack in Florida as he renewed his criticism of the previous administration’s immigration policies.
He blamed former President Joe Biden and Democrats for what he described as failures at the southern border, as well as a woman’s death.
“An Illegal Alien Criminal from Haiti, who was released into our Country by the WORST President in History, Crooked Joe Biden, and the Radical Democrats in Congress, just beat an innocent woman to death with a hammer at a gas station in Florida,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.”The video of her brutal slaying is one of the most vicious things you will ever see,” he added.
Trump’s post included footage of the deadly attack, which he said “is so terrible” and advised caution to anyone who watches it. It shows the suspect running up to the woman and repeatedly hitting her in the head with a hammer.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) previously identified the suspect as Rolbert Joachin, describing him as “a Haitian illegal alien” accused of bludgeoning “an innocent mother to death.” DHS said Joachin killed the woman on April 3 after he smashed her car windshield outside a gas station.
The agency said Joachin first entered the U.S. in August 2022 and was released into the country under the Biden administration. A federal judge issued a final order of removal against him in 2022, but the Biden administration granted him Temporary Protected Status, or TPS, which expired in 2024.
“This illegal alien barbarically hit this woman in the head multiple times with a hammer. This heinous murderer was RELEASED into the country by the Biden administration. Not only did the Biden administration release him into the country, but they then gave him Temporary Protected Status,” Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement.”Their reckless immigration policies cost this woman her life. The arrest of this criminal is an example of how ICE and local authorities can work together to swiftly bring criminals to justice and make our communities safer,” Bis added.
In his social media post, Trump criticized the (TPS program, which allows individuals from certain countries facing crises to remain in the U.S. temporarily. He described the program as flawed and said his administration is seeking to end it, while accusing federal judges of blocking those efforts.
“This animal was allowed to stay here because the Biden Administration granted him, and all Haitians, ‘Temporary Protective Status,’ a massively abused and fraudulent program which my Administration is working to terminate, but Deranged Liberal District Court Judges are standing in our way. DHS said ICE lodged a detainer against Joachin, adding that “he will be deported regardless of the outcome of this case.”
