A woman was left with “very serious injuries” after being hit by a vehicle on a motorway near Leeds, police have said.
Officers attended the M621 clockwise, near junction one in Holbeck, at about 04:50 BST after reports of a collision between a car and a woman on the carriageway, according to a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.
The incident “remains ongoing” and a full road closure was in place on both sides of the carriageway with diversions in place, they said.
The motorway would remain closed “for some time” and motorists were “thanked for their patience” while investigations at the scene continued, the spokesperson added.
