Nneka Ogwumike announces departure from Seattle Storm in social media post

SEATTLE — Nneka Ogwumike,35, announced she is departing from the Seattle Storm in a social media post on Thursday.
On an Instagram story and X, Ogwumike thanked Seattle.
Ogwumike was with the Storm for 2 seasons and is a former MVP and 10-time All-Star, according to ESPN.
Before playing for Seattle, Ogwumike spent 12 seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks.
The news comes as the negotiation period of free agency is underway, and players can sign contracts beginning Saturday, according to ESPN.

Ogwumike was not listed on the team’s roster on Thursday.
The Seattle Storm has not commented on the situation.
