Patrick Reed’s Wife Has Long Faced Backlash From Golf Community

Patrick Reed is leading at The Masters on Thursday.

The former Masters champion is leading the field at -4 through 10 holes. He’s already made an eagle on the front nine, too. Reed, who won the 2018 Masters Tournament, is eyeing a second green jacket this weekend.

Reed, 35, has been married to his wife, Justine, since 2012. However, his wife has long faced attention from the golf community.

“My wife, best friend, rock and teammate. Happy Mother’s Day Justine – we all love you very much and appreciate all that you do for us,” Reed wrote to his wife in a social media post.

Reed’s wife, Justine, is known for being a major personality in the golf world. She’s previously gone viral for her alleged behavior on social media.

Back in 2018, she reportedly questioned the leadership of the Ryder Cup.

Addressing her partner’s Ryder Cup pairing, she asked one person Twitter to “ask Jordan (Spieth)” when responding to a post about why the team of Reed and Spieth was split up. She later slammed the coverage on Golf Channel as “journalistically disqualified.”

Reed’s wife even served as his caddie at some points in his career, which is not common for a spouse.

Reed’s family has also been open about their estranged relationship with the longtime golfing star.

“The Reeds haven’t spoken to their son and brother in six years. Like most family estrangements, theirs is complicated. It’s Patrick and his wife, Justine, and her family on one side, and Bill, Jeannette, Hannah and their family on the other…some years ago, I ran into Bill at a tournament, and it was clear he was trying to watch his son play golf without anyone noticing he was watching his son play golf,” ESPN reported in 2018.

It’s unclear what the state of the relationship is in 2026, but perhaps all eyes will be on the Reeds in the final round on Sunday.
