Just when the cast and crew behind Euphoria think things are back on track, there is some more drama involving Sydney Sweeney.

The third season of HBO’s teen drama series is set to premiere on the streamer on April 12, but it appears not everyone on the cast has welcomed it with open arms, as rumors of on-set drama involving creator Sam Levinson have plagued much of the upcoming season.

That speculation was only intensified this week at the Los Angeles premiere, where interactions between female stars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney and Alexa Demie looked a lot more icier than years past.

Now, multiple sources have exposed how apparent on-set tensions were triggered by Sam’s “intense” directing, as well as the two Euphoria stars who “avoid each other” both on set and when the cameras are off.

At the Los Angeles premiere of Euphoria Season 3 on April 6, fans were quick to notice apparent tension between co-stars Zendaya and Sydney on the red carpet.

The 29-year-old model dazzled in a brown halterneck Ashi Studio gown, as she posed solo for cameras, while the Anyone But You star rocked up to the Euphoria premiere with her boyfriend, controversial music manager Scooter Braun, wearing a draped white Pierre Cardin mini-dress.

The 28-year-old actress appeared friendly with her castmates Alexa Demie, Hunter Schafer and Maude Apatow as they posed up a storm together on the red carpet.

However, according to a source close to production, it wasn’t all friendly behind the scenes. Between pay differences and lists of demands, Sydney had developed a “difficult” reputation among cast and crew on the Euphoria set.

Speaking to Daily Mail, one source close to production shared, “Zendaya was definitely making more money than Sydney. Zendaya was the name coming on to the project, and that wasn’t easy for Sydney, especially since she’s now a bigger name than she once was.”

While “most crew love having Sydney on set and working with her,” the insider claimed, “some do and some don’t.” They continued, “When Sydney is on set, she definitely has a lot of demands as far as what she wants and needs to work, so that can be difficult for some.”

The source concluded, “Zendaya is very well liked and was a pleasure to have around set. She’s a total professional and very down to Earth, very kind and appreciative.” The Mirror US has reached out to Sydney’s representatives for comment.

Body language expert Judi James spoke to The Mirror US on Sydney’s appearance at the Euphoria Season 3 red carpet premiere. She began by stating how the Christy actress’ poses showed her “PR Intentional” rituals or “her ideal projected image” of the new season she is promoting.

Judi elaborated, telling us, “There’s no ‘goddess’ posing in this clip; instead, she stands with her hands touching in a more demure, tentative-looking gesture in front of what should be the most dramatic detail of her dress. Her brows are raised, which widens her eyes, which in turn gives a less seductive and more innocent look, and her mouth smile looks sweet here.”

“She throws a ‘window-washing’ wave at the press and the fans, which is an almost childlike, coy ritual, and then she blows a kiss before moving off. Kiss-blowing like this is more of a nod to Sydney’s signature Marilyn Monroe vibe, but she adds another cute wave to follow it,” Judi continued.

Judi also noted Sydney exhibited “a hint of wariness” as well. She pointed out near the end of Sydney’s red carpet photoshoot, her smile had vanished, and “here is a wary-looking glance behind her as though she’s checking who might be following her up the red carpet.”
