2026 Masters cut line and players that missed out after Round 2

The 90th Masters Tournament is through Round 2 on Friday, which means the focus turned to both the top of the leaderboard, along with the center of the list, too.
That’s where the cut line lurks, noting who’s going to survive to play the final two rounds of the tournament over the weekend.
With second-round scores now complete, we know who has survived, and who’s had his green jacket dreams doused before Saturday.
Who’s going to miss the cut at the 2026 Masters?
Bryson DeChambeau was inside the cutline on the 18th tee late Friday afternoon. 20 minutes later, it was time to pack the bags. A stunning 7 on the final par 4 means he finished at 6 over. After a drive into the trees on the right, he pitched into the bunker on the left. But his third hit the lip and stayed in the sand. A fourth shot rolled off the front of the green, and his chip to make the cut went by the hole. At that point, it didn’t matter that his next putt slid by to the right.
What’s the cut line at the 2026 Masters Tournament?
The cutline landed 4-over-par 148 for 54 players. Scoring on Friday improved from Thursday by nearly two shots per player.
Rasmus Hojgaard came to the 18th hole needing a birdie to get to 4 under and make the cut. He handled the assignment and will stay for the weekend. Alex Noren needed a par on 18 to stick around, and he got that, too.
Jon Rahm and DeChambeau, the two stars of LIV Golf, were the most recognizable to start the day.
Rahm shot a Masters career-worst 78 on Thursday, but he maneuvered his way to a 2-under-par 70 on Friday and is at 148, right on the cut line.
DeChambeau, as we mentioned above, was not so lucky.
Past the group at 4 over, reigning U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun is the highest-ranked player in trouble. He finished at 5 over. Robert MacIntyre rebounded nicely Friday with a 71, but his opening 80 was far too much to overcome. All six amateurs in the field are also in line to miss the cut.
How does the Masters cut line work?
After two rounds of play, the field is trimmed to the top 50 players and ties. Those players advance to rounds 3 and 4 over the weekend.
In past years, there was a rule at the Masters that anyone within 10 shots of the lead also advanced, but that is no longer the case.
What has been the cut line in past Masters Tournaments?
As said earlier, the number floats around.
More often than not, the number hovers between 2-over 146 and 6-over 150. The cut has been in that range for every spring Masters since 2012.
2026: 4-over 148
2025: 3-over 147
2024: 7-over 151
2023: 4-over 148
2022: 5-over 149
2021: 4-over 148
2020: 1-over 145
2019: 4-over 148
2018: 6-over 150
What are the Masters records for highest cut line and lowest cut line?
The record for lowest cut was even-par 144 in the 2020 Masters held in the fall under much more comfortable scoring conditions.
The record for highest cut was 10-over 154 in 1982. In recent memory, the 2007 Masters played in cold and wind all week had a cut line of 8-over 152, the highest since the record in ’82.
