Anyma Coachella Set Canceled Due to ‘Strong Wind Conditions’

One of the final performances scheduled for the first night of Coachella has been scrapped due to severe weather conditions.

Anyma, the Italian American DJ who makes up one-half of the EDM duo Tale of Us, was set to perform on the main stage at midnight, approximately 90 minutes after Sabrina Carpenter’s headlining set.

But at 12:17 a.m., the festival notified attendees of a “schedule update.”

“Due to strong wind conditions affecting Anyma’s stage build, he is unable to perform,” reads the statement, which was posted online and sent as a push notification via the Coachella app. “Coachella & Anyma have made this decision together with your safety as the priority. Further updates to come.”

Those watching the livestream at home may have found out the set had been canceled when a note reading “Stage Wrapped” appeared under the “Main Stage.”

It is unclear whether Anyma’s performance will be rescheduled for another time at the festival, which runs through Sunday night (and repeats next weekend).

Variety has reached out to Anyma’s representative for comment.

This year’s Coachella music festival kicked off on Friday, with performances from artists like Dijon, Disclosure and Turnstile, as well as headliner Carpenter, who brought out celebrity guests Susan Sarandon and Will Ferrell and heated up the desert with hits such as “Espresso” and “Manchild.”

The fun continues throughout the weekend, with additional headliners Justin Bieber and Karol G. Coachella will also take place next weekend, from April 17 to 19, with the same lineup of performers.
