Peter Andre has opened up about his relationship with ex-wife Katie Price, admitting that the pair have been in contact and even had lunch together at his home

Just two months ago, Peter Andre and Katie Price put an end to one of the longest-running feuds in celebrity history. The former couple, who were once at loggerheads, finally made peace for the sake of their grown-up children Junior, 20, and Princess, 18.
It seems their joint statement, in which they announced they’d “decided to close the door on the past and move forward” and expressed hope that this was the “start of a positive relationship”, was genuine.
Peter, 53, has disclosed that he and Katie, 47, chat on the phone and she even came over for lunch at his house, where he lives with his wife Emily and their three children, Amelia, 12, Theo, 8, and Arabella, one. He also mentioned that he’s met Katie’s new husband, Lee Andrews, whom she wed in January just days after meeting him on Instagram.

In a chat with The Sun, Peter shared: “It was only recently when Princess was in the kitchen and she went, ‘Oh, I’ll go in the other room to make this call’. I asked why, and thought she was going to be speaking to a boy or something, but she said, ‘I’m going to speak to Mum’. I said, ‘Well, put her on, and I’ll say hello’.
“So she came on and she went, ‘Oh, this is weird isn’t it’ and I said, ‘Actually, it isn’t.’ And that’s when I saw her and her husband. We had a chat, we laughed, and it wasn’t weird at all.”
This is a conversation that seemed impossible 15 years ago. After meeting on I’m A Celebrity in 2004, Katie and Peter became a celebrity power couple, with their wedding gracing the cover of OK magazine and multiple reality shows under their belt, reports the Mirror.
Things took a turn for the worse in 2009 when they parted ways and ceased all contact.
For years, their communication was limited to third-party interactions concerning their children. However, Peter reveals that behind the scenes, there has been more interaction and possibly friendship than most would suspect.

In fact, Katie has even visited Pete’s Surrey home. Last June, Katie expressed her happiness about Peter’s marriage to Emily, but then lashed out two months later, publicly criticising Emily on Instagram for featuring Junior and Princess on her social media while concealing her own children’s faces.
Despite being on good terms now, Peter is eager for it to continue.
He added: “A lot of people don’t know this, but many times over the last 16 years, we have been OK. Only four years ago, she was sitting in our garden and we were all having lunch. And I love that.
“And now we’re fine again and this time I really want it to last. Because, no matter what happens, she’s the mother of my kids. And those kids are my world.”
