Abbey Romeo is showing support for ex-boyfriend David Isaacman’s continued success.
Romeo supported her Love on the Spectrum costar by liking an Instagram post about his latest career milestone, which came amid news of the couple’s breakup on Thursday, April 9.
Isaacman revealed on the platform that he wrote a children’s book, The Big Five Save the Lions, which arrives this summer. As he explained in the post’s caption, the book is “very personal to me” and is now available to preorder.

“It’s inspired by me and my friends, reimagined as kids and superheroes. We care about protecting animals and standing up for what matters. The characters are also on the autism spectrum, just like me, and that representation means a lot,” Isaacman wrote.
He added, “Sharing this during Autism Awareness Month makes it even more meaningful—especially while celebrating the new season of Netflix’s Love on the Spectrum.”
Season 4 of Love on the Spectrum premiered earlier this month, while Isaacman’s book hits shelves on Aug. 11.
Isaacman’s career update came the same day news broke that he and Romeo called it quits, with The U.S. Sun being the first outlet to report the breakup. PEOPLE reached out to reps for Romeo and Isaacman for comment.
The pair, who have appeared on all four seasons of Love on the Spectrum, were the show’s longest-standing couple. They marked their first date at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park on July 12, 2021, later bonding over their shared love of visiting fun places, including the L.A. Zoo, Disneyland, Universal Studios and the Griffith Observatory.

During season 4, Abbey told Love on the Spectrum producers that “neither one of us are ready to get married” and that they felt they were “already married in our hearts.” Abbey and her mother, Christine, opened up about what marriage could look like for the couple during an appearance on The Unplanned Podcast in March 2025.
“It doesn’t have to be in the traditional sense of what a neurotypical person would make it look like,” Christine recalled telling Abbey. “You can have your place, he can still have his place. You can still do what you do until you’re ready to move in together … so that they can make that commitment without having it to upheaval everything else.”
The couple celebrated their four-year anniversary on July 12, 2025. At the time, Abbey posted a clip to Instagram of David giving her an anniversary gift. They returned to the San Diego Zoo to celebrate the milestone.
Abbey last posted a video of David to Instagram in December 2025 when they visited Universal Studios together. “We’ve loved having an annual pass,” she captioned the video.
