How to park and get to the RBC Heritage on Hilton Head — without the stress

Unless you’re staying in Sea Pines, getting to the PGA Tour’s RBC Heritage on Hilton Head Island can be quite a challenge.

There is no general spectator parking inside Sea Pines, so members of the public may have to find creative ways to navigate to the golf event, whether it’s by walking, cycling or taking a rideshare service.

Here are our tips to help you get to the tournament without the stress.

Tip #1: Park and shuttle

Free parking is available at the Coastal Discovery Museum at 70 Honey Horn Drive from Tuesday through Sunday.

A complimentary motor coach service will transport people to and from Honey Horn to the Harbour Town Marina daily from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The ride will take about 20 minutes.

Complimentary shuttles will also run from the Coligny Beach Parking Lot at 102 Pope Avenue Tuesday through Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Tip #2: Take a rideshare, taxi or trolley

You are allowed to travel by rideshare (like Uber or Lyft) or taxi into Sea Pines, but transportation is subject to restrictions during tournament play.

During tournament hours, rideshare services can only drop off and pick up customers at designated spots at the Shops at Sea Pines Center at 71 Lighthouse Road.

From there, you can bike, walk, or hop on the Sea Pines Trolley to get to RBC Heritage. It’s a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute bike ride.

Once tournament play has officially ended for the day, taxis and rideshares will be able to pick up at locations around the Harbour Town Golf Course.

But watch out for surge pricing. When demand is high, rideshare prices shoot up.

The Sea Pines trolley will provide service from various stops within Sea Pines to RBC Heritage Monday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Visit www.seapinestrolley.com to track the location of the trolley in real time.

Tip #3: Opt for a bicycle

If you’ve already booked a stay somewhere in Hilton Head, cycling to the tournament is a good way to avoid traffic.

Cyclists can enter Sea Pines during RBC Heritage at the Ocean Gate on South Forest Beach Drive or at the Main Gate on Greenwood Drive.

Cyclists must show a digital ticket or volunteer badge to be permitted entry.

From the main gate, Harbour Town is roughly 15 minutes away by bike.

Complimentary bicycle parking will be available inside Sea Pines at the tennis courts next to the Harbour Town Tennis Parking Lot.

Public parking lots are available at 102 and 72 Pope Avenue, but keep in mind these are intended for beach parking. These are roughly 25 minutes from Harbour Town by bicycle.

Don’t own a bicycle? There’s plenty of bicycle rental shops on Hilton Head close to the Sea Pines gate. Prices vary, but are typically around $30 per bike per day.
