UFC 327: Chris Padilla vs. MarQuel Mederos: Prediction
I predict a unanimous decision win for Padilla, mainly because of his fight IQ and his ability to adjust his fight plan on the fly. Padilla is also very good at disrupting his opponent’s rhythm and preventing them from establishing their offense by giving them different looks.
I think Padilla will take a grappling-heavy approach to neutralize Mederos’ crisp striking combinations and drain a significant amount of energy. This will eventually take out the power and threat of his striking.
Padilla, however, should be careful in engaging too much on the feet against Mederos because he might be caught by a clean shot that could wobble him and knock him down the mat. Padilla should instantly go for a takedown or time a perfect level-change.
