President Donald Trump will make an appearance in Miami on Saturday — and you know what that means.

As the president heads to and from the Kaseya Center in downtown Miami for the Ultimate Fighting Championship event, roads will likely be closed and traffic held up or detoured.

Here’s what to know:

President Trump in Miami

  • Trump will make an appearance at the UFC 327 event at Kaseya Center in downtown Miami around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, April 11.
  • If he flies to Miami International Airport and heads downtown, that could mean State Road 836 and Interstate 95 will be shut down for a motorcade.
  • For pedestrians, take note: Bayfront Park officials report that the rear gate of Maurice A. Ferre Park connecting to the Kaseya Center will be temporarily closed starting 3 p.m. Friday “due to security measures related to an upcoming event.” The park didn’t give details on when the gate will reopen.
  • Trump is expected to remain in Miami overnight, which could mean more highway closings on State Road 112 or State Road 836 if he heads to his Doral golf resort property after the Saturday night fighting event.
  • The president is expected to depart Miami for Washington sometime Sunday, which would mean another round of highway shutdowns, possibly on Northwest 36th Street and State Road 112 on the way back to the Miami airport.

President Trump was last in Miami in March to attend a business and politics summit in Miami Beach. His itinerary included traveling during weekday rush hour and included shutdowns of I-95.

Trump also came to Miami last year for the UFC event at Kaseya Center. Surrounded by members of his family and Cabinet, Trump found a friendly crowd and was showered with cheers and chants of “USA” from the fans.
