Since July 2025, Magiera had served as the assistant coach of the Polish national team, having represented his country at youth level as a player.
Magiera came through the youth ranks of Raków Częstochowa, before moving to Legia Warsaw, where he won two league titles, one Polish Cup, one Polish Super Cup, and the Polish League Cup. He finished his playing career at Cracovia having made 233 appearances in the Ekstraklasa, scoring 25 goals.
He also represented Poland at youth level, winning the European Championship with the Under-16 team in 1993. A few months later, he captained the Polish Under-17 national team to a fourth-place finish at the World Cup.
After retiring as a player, Magiera had coaching spells with the Polish Under-18 and Under-20 teams, as well as Zagłębie Sosnowiec. He coached Legia’s reserve team, before returning as head coach and leading the club to the Polish championship in 2017.
He later took the reins at Śląsk Wrocław, where he secured a runners-up finish in the 2023/2024 season, before becoming national team assistant following Jan Urban’s appointment last summer.
