Jamie Ding ‘Jeopardy!’ win streak hits 21; how much has he won?

Metro Detroit native Jamie Ding continued his incredible run as “Jeopardy!” champion Friday, winning his 21st consecutive game and surpassing $600,000 in total prize money.

Ding is now tied for sixth most wins in “Jeopardy!” history alongside Cris Pannullo, who won 21 straight in late 2022. Ding also ranks sixth in terms of total prize winnings.

How much has he won?

Ding finished Friday’s show with another $36,400, bringing him to a total of $609,000.

He jumped out to an early lead and never trailed during Friday’s show, earning $7,000 before either of the other contestants even rang in to answer a question.

Xaque Williams, a writer from Knoxville, Tennessee, finished with a solid $15,200. Kathi Fitzgerald, an English teacher from Williamsburg, Virginia, finished in third with $200.

What’s next?

Ding will go for win No. 22 on Monday’s episode. In Detroit, “Jeopardy!” airs on WDIV-TV (Channel 4) at 7:30 p.m. The long-running TV game show also streams on Hulu and Peacock.

Another victory would put Ding in sole possession of the sixth most wins in the show’s history, according to The Jeopardy! Fan, an online database of “Jeopardy!” statistics.

The record for most wins is held by current host Ken Jennings, who won 74 straight games in 2004, earning him more than $2.5 million.

Amy Schneider (40 wins) and Matt Amodio (38 wins) rank second and third, respectively.

Who is Jamie Ding?

Ding is a 2009 graduate of Grosse Pointe North High School. There, he was an honor student, a National AP Scholar and placed highly in the National Academic Quiz Tournaments’ high school championship, according to the Grosse Pointe News.

Ding’s father is Yuchuan Ding, a professor of neurosurgery at Wayne State University.

Now a bureaucrat and law student, Jamie Ding currently resides in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
