Both the Golden State Warriors and LA Clippers look to avoid losing three straight on Sunday heading into the final game of the season between these Pacific Division rivals. There is a lot more on the line for the Clippers in this season finale. The Clippers look to finish above .500 with a win today, but more importantly, they share the same 41-40 record with the Portland Trail Blazers. Portland holds the eight seed while LA is in ninth place after the Clippers lost to the Trail Blazers on the road on Friday. Now, Portland just has to beat one of the worst teams in the Western Conference, the Sacramento Kings, to earn the eight seed. The Warriors are firmly locked into the 10th and final play-in spot after a myriad of injuries this season. The Clippers lead this series 2-1 against the Warriors after winning Game 3 114-101 in San Francisco on March 2. Kawhi Leonard put up 23 points to lead all scorers and the Clippers made a huge rally, eliminating a 17-point deficit.

The Warriors have lost six of their last seven games after losing 124-118 to the Kings on Friday. Devin Carter put up a career-high 29 points for the Kings, but Sacramento didn’t help its draft odds in the process. The Utah Jazz are now in last place in the West, and Brooklyn, Indiana, and Washington all have worse records than the Kings. Despite the loss, Brandin Podziemski still had a strong game, scoring a game-high 30 points. Alas, Sacramento tied up the series 2-2.
The Clippers fell to Portland, 1116-97, on the road on Friday. LA couldn’t stop Deni Avdija, who scored a game-high 35 points, and Donovan Clingan added 18 points with 13 rebounds. Leonard led the Clippers once again with 24 points and eight rebounds. Portland tied the season series 2-2 and swiped the eighth seed from LA, which the Clippers have held on to for much of the latter part of the season. If the Clippers were to lose tonight or the Trail Blazers were to win, LA would host the Warriors once again in a rematch.
